Haskell Howard Bright, 91, of Greeneville, died Thursday evening at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Bright was a native of Greene County and was a son of the late Mack D. and Lizzie Bright.

He was a member of Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Greeneville Lodge #3, F&AM.

Mr. Bright was a building constructor.

He had worked at the Navy Yard in Portsmouth, Va., during World War II.

Those close to him knew Mr. Bright as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. They said he will be remembered for his kind, compassionate personality.

Survivors include his wife: Montie Looney Bright; a son and daughter-in-law: Howard and Donna Bright of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; two grandchildren: Chris Barry and Wynne Webb, both of Cartersville, Ga.; four great-grandchildren: Ashley Barry and Beth Barry, both of Cartersville, and Olivia Tatum and Josh Tatum, both of Greeneville; a sister: Elizabeth Bailey of Concord, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law: J.C. and Marjorie Bright of Afton; a brother-in-law and his wife: William and Joanne Looney, and a sister-in-law and her husband: Elva and Phil Maupin, all of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Montie Elizabeth Barry; two sisters: Clara Gray and Julia Shanks; and three brothers: Kyle Bright, Basil Bright and Ben Bright.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with interment in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The Rev. Jamie Lively and the Rev. Roy Blakeburn will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Gray, Mike Webb, Bobby Shanks, Tonnie Bailey, John Bright and Roger Looney.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Stanley, Paul Hite, Joe Babb, Bill Britton, Jim Abshire, John McInturff, and the members of Greeneville CP Church.

In the obituary for Haskell Howard Bright published in the Saturday edition of The Greeneville Sun, the following was inadvertently omitted from the information provided.

Jeffrey Bright served as a pallbearer.
